Frequently asked questions
Where is Sōk based?
We're based in South Australia, so if you're in SA we can offer full installation.
If you're interstate, then we can still customise your sauna to your needs, get it built to order & have it delivered to your door. You'd just need to organise the installation!
We don't currently have a showroom but it's in our future plans.
What power does it need?
Every Sōk heater needs its own dedicated circuit, connected by a licensed electrician. What you need depends on your heater:
Harvia Vega Compact 3.5kW (The Cabin 2 seater): about 15A
Harvia The Wall 4.5kW or 6kW (The Pod 2 seater): about 20–25A
Harvia The Wall or Spirit 9kW (larger saunas): about 38A single-phase, or 3-phase
Harvia Cilindro PRO 13.2kW (high-power option): 3-phase
The Room’s ice bath chiller also needs its own power outlet.
Before you order, ask your electrician to check that your switchboard has the capacity. Older homes sometimes need an upgrade. If you choose professional install, we arrange the electrician for you, and any switchboard work is quoted separately.
How long does construction & delivery take?
Every sauna is built to order in around 30 days, then they take about 20-30 days to ship. Depending on the size & customisations!
Yes, it takes a little while because Sōk Saunas are build to order. We do this so that you get A) the best price direct from factory and B) the ability to customise your sauna.
What's the Sōk recommended Sauna protocol?
If you're new to Sauna we recommend just starting with 10-15 minutes at 70°C, three or four times whilst you get used to it.
Oh... and you should drink plenty of water & consider replenishing your electrolytes afterwards. Everyone sweats different so you could find you need sodium / electrolytes to prevent getting a dehydrated or a headache after your session.
Then when you are getting used to it you can move up to 15-20 minute sessions and or increase temperature up to 80°C. You'll find out what works best for you.
We include Sōk Sauna Hats with each purchase for a reason. We believe they help keep your head & hair cool which helps 1) reduces likelihood of getting a headache and 2) protects from hair damage.
What is the warranty or what if it arrives damaged?
We've got your back.
3-year structural warranty on your sauna. 2-year warranty on your Harvia heater + 1 year extra if you register your heater.
The heater must be connected by a licensed electrician for the warranty to apply. Natural timber movement, colour changes and surface checking are normal and not defects. If anything goes wrong, contact us at hello@soksaunas.com and we’ll handle it for you, including heater claims. Our warranty is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
If your sauna is damaged in transit at all. Just email us photos within 48 hours at hello@soksaunas.com and we’ll arrange a repair or replacement parts at no cost to you! Easy peasy.
Please view our warranty page for a full 'what's covered' vs. 'wear and tear' list.
Where are they made?
Our saunas are built to order by a specialist manufacturer in China, with Harvia heaters from Finland.
We believe this allows us to bring you the best sauna quality & features that we just wouldn't be able to offer if we built them in house. This allows us to focus on design, customer service & installations.
We like to work closely with each client to ensure you get the sauna of your dreams & take the headache out of installation.
