Neither of us set out to start a sauna company. We just wanted a good sauna in the backyard, and couldn't find one we'd be happy to live with.
So we built our own. Will built the frame the way he would on site: square, level and made to handle years of heat, rain and sun. Luke obsessed over the rest: the timber, the bench heights, how the light falls in the evening, how it feels to step out into cold air.
We changed things, rebuilt things and tested them the only way that matters, by using them most nights of the week. Then our closest friends started asking for one. So we built theirs too, customised to their yards and the way they like to sweat.
Somewhere around the third or fourth build, it stopped being a hobby. People kept asking, and we kept saying yes. Sōk is what happens when you take that seriously: the saunas we built for ourselves, made for anyone who wants one, and installed by people who care how it turns out.
